FC Barcelona suffered a fourth straight league defeat at Real Sociedad, despite enjoying the lions’ share of possession as well as host of attempts on goal. Here are the pick of the statistics from Saturday’s 1-0 loss:
Barça had eight shots on target from 12 efforts at Anoeta but were unable to beat a stubborn GerĂ³nimo Rulli in the Sociedad goal, who made six saves.
The away side dominated possession of the ball (73.5%) and completed 686 passes compared to La Real’s 241.
As ever, Sergio Busquets bossed the midfield, with 107 passes to his name. He also recovered possession 14 times and participated in 137 plays.
Rafinha made his first start for the first team since Week 3 of La Liga after a six-month spell on the sidelines through injury. The Brazilian international completed 45 minutes before being replaced by Andres Iniesta.
Coupled with last week’s El ClĂ¡sico defeat, another loss in San Sebastian makes it the first time since November 2014 that Barça have lost two consecutive matches.
