Alex Ovechkin, named all-star captain, says he'll pass on mid-season festivities

Alex Ovechkin says he won't attend this season's all-star game in St. Louis. The Capitals forward was voted by fans as the Metropolitan division captain on Dec. 21, but he told reporters on Friday that he would be prioritizing health instead.
