FC Barcelona's Uruguayan talks us through video highlights of a season to remember

Luis Suárez has been the standout player this season at FC Barcelona. The Uruguayan has played arguably the finest football of his career and his 59 goals in 53 records, a personal record, have spurred the team to no fewer than four major trophies.

His fifty goals in La Liga were enough to win him his second Golden Shoe, and has he tells the club media: “Only Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have been able to score forty goals in a single league season, and it’s a real privilege to be up there with them.”

Suárez wears the number nine, so in this video, we’ve picked nine of his finest strikes from his award-winning campaign and asked the man himself to talk us through them. There’s his goal in the European Super Cup, his amazing finish to beat Bayer Leverkusen in injury time, and of course his brace in the 4-0 win at Real Madrid. Speaking about that memorable day, he says: “It’s not easy to win at the Bernabéu and we made our mark on history.”

The year ended with a hat-trick in the semi-final of the Club World Cup and a couple more in the final against River. But there was more to come from Suárez after New Year, including the now-famous penalty against Celta, two against Atlético Madrid in the Champions League, and yet another hat-trick, this time against Granada in the final game of the season. A win that sealed the league title and sparked off jubilant celebrations in the streets of Barcelona.
