Leo Messi's goals for FC Barcelona from free-kicks in 2015/16
Three against Sevilla, two against Espanyol and one each versus Deportivo and Celta have seen the Argentinian continue his reputation as a master of set pieces
Leo Messi scored seven goals from free kicks in the 2015/16 season. He’s always been a danger from set pieces, but this year has proven to be more lethal than ever. And several of those goals have been major game-changers.
His favourite victim has been Sevilla, against whom he scored two free-kicks in the first official game of the season, the European Super Cup. He also netted a free against them in a league match, and did likewise against Celta, Deportivo and Espanyol. The other free-kick was also in a local derby, when he beat Pau López in the Copa del Rey match at the Camp Nou.
