Marc Bartra hails 'huge boost for our morale'
The FC Barcelona centre back, scorer of the seventh of eight goals against Deportivo, looks back in joy at a marvellous evening at Riazor
FC Barcelona stormed to victory on Wednesday night at Riazor, and after the stunning 8-0 win, four-goal hero Luis Suárez, plus Marc Bartra, who marked his recall to the starting eleven by scoring his second goal of the season, discussed the moment with the media:
Luis Suárez
“We had a clear target – to win. And we’re more than happy with the way we did it. We have been training to meet our targets and tonight we have shown that the team is united.”
“It’s not easy at all to win matches. The most important thing is that our destiny is still in our hands and I am sure that the hard work that we are all doing will bear fruits”.
Marc Bartra
“I’ve not spent the last few months in the best of situations so I was very happy to get this chance tonight. We needed this win. Not just for the three points, but also to boost our morale as a team. Justice was done.”
“One of the best bits of news is that the three up front have found their scoring touch again. We have sent out a strong message. But we know that the games we ahead of us are going to be very important too.”
