The 8-0 scoreline matches the club's record win away from home, while Suarez overtakes Ronaldo's 47-goal season
FC Barcelona got back to winning ways on Wednesday in the most convincing of fashions, hitting eight past Deportivo without reply.
Aside from the jaw-dropping scoreline, here is a look at some of the other stats that caught the eye:
-For the eighth straight league season, Barça have scored 95 goals or more. The record stands at 115 in 2012/13.
-The 8-0 scoreline matches the club’s biggest ever away victory which has been achieved a further three times, against UD Las Palmas (1959/60), UD Almeria (2010/11) and Cordoba (2014/15).
-Barça scored eight with 16 shots on goal, compared to 22 in the recent home game against Valencia where they managed to score just once.
-Suárez has now surpassed the legendary Ronaldo’s record of 47 goals in a season, with the Uruguayan now on 49 for the campaign. Only Messi has managed the same feat, with 73 goals in 2011/12.
-It was the second time this season that Luis Suárez scored four goals in a game. The first came against Valencia in the 7-0 cup semi-final win.
-Marc Bartra has not tasted defeat while on the field of play since 22 February 2014 in a 3-1 loss at Anoeta. Since then, the defender has experienced 33 straight wins. He also got his name on the scoresheet, his sixth ever goal for the club.
-Dani Alves made the most successful passes (95 out of 106), a 90 per cent success rate, followed by Jordi Alba (75) and Messi (69)
