Recovery session looking ahead to Villarreal

First team trains at Ciutat Esportiva the morning after securing their ninth consecutive Champions League quarter final

FC Barcelona held a recovery session at Ciutat Esportiva on Thursday following their second leg victory over Arsenal on Wednesday night.

The 3-1 win at Camp Nou secured Barça’s ninth consecutive quarter-final spot in Europe’s elite competition.

As was the case in last night’s match, rain continued to fall heavily on the training ground where Luis Enrique had all available first team players at his disposal.

Although the intention of the workout was to recover from the intense match, the players began working on aspects of another important game that lies ahead.

Barça visit El Madrigal on Sunday (4.00pm CET) to take on fourth-placed Villarreal in what promises to be an enthralling encounter.
