Aleix Vidal under no Clásico illusions

The Barça full-back weighs up the upcoming derby match, insisting that the difference in points does not play into his teammates' minds, nor does it make it any easier

Ahead of a possible first-ever Clásico appearance, Aleix Vidal spoke to the media at Ciutat Esportiva to give his views on Saturday’s match.

The full-back, signed from Sevilla last summer, discusses the many factors going into the game against Real Madrid. Here is the pick of his quotes:

Points gap 

“Everybody would love to be in our position but, in matches like these, the difference in points is left to the side.”

Barça are ten points clear of their third-placed rivals, but Vidal stressed that “whoever thinks it will be easy is mistaken”.

Asked whether the team’s busy fixture list would affect proceedings, Vidal responded: "There is so much motivation to play in these types of games that fatigue remains in the background".
