Luis Suárez discusses team's excellent form
“The club, the fans and the staff are happy because it is a moment to treasure,” said the Uruguayan striker
FC Barcelona striker Luis Suárez sat down for a chat with sports giant Adidas on Thursday and the Uruguayan spoke about various things regarding the team.
“The match against Villanovense was a game to show that, on the field it is eleven against eleven and no team is weaker than another, but rather it must be proven with good football and goals,” Suárez said about the team’s progression to the last 16 of the cup.
The league’s second top scorer so far this season used the opportunity to praise the team’s current form, saying that “the club, the fans and the staff are happy because it is a moment to treasure”.
Young forwards Sandro and Munir managed five goals between them on Wednesday and Suárez feels that it will do them a world of good: “I am very happy for them because with goals comes confidence, which is very good for the team”.
One of the key factors in Barça’s excellent run of form is the front three of Leo Messi, Neymar Jr and Suárez who have scored 43 goals together so far this season in all competitions.
"Nobody thinks one is better than another, we see ourselves as teammates and not as stars. Both Neymar and I feel Messi is the best in the world and everyone knows it and nobody will compete against the other,” he modestly stated.
The Catalans are currently four points clear at teh top of the league table ahead of second place Atletico Madrid, and six points clear of Real Madrid. Nevertheless, Suárez is well aware that there is a long way to go: “It is a good advantage and we want to make the most of our points but we must not rely on anybody else.”
