A total of 160 players from the FC Barcelona Soccer Camps in the USA have witnessed first half this week the working philosophy of the FCB Escola

A group formed by 160 players from the FC Barcelona Soccer Camps at the United States have been the star attraction at the FCB Escola. The boys aged between 8 and 14  years of age have enjoyed an unforgettable experience that has allowed them to get to know the training methods and the philosophy behind the FCB Escola first hand from the coaching staff coordinated by Alejandro Esteban. “They are enjoying a Barça experience that they will never forget,” explains Esteban, who has prepared for them an intense week of training in which the American played are not only learning just what the Barça DNA with regards to the game on the field, but also with regards to the values that the Club represents such as tolerance, respect and team work.

Those 160 players are the best boys and girls from the almost 2,000 players who have taken part in the FC Barcelona Soccer Camps that have taken place so far in 2015, organised by partner’s Barça ISL Futbol, in the US cities of Charlotte, Raleigh, Richmond, Cincinnati and Louisville. “They are a group of players who have excellent individual technique, because in the United States they work hard on this aspect, however, they are not used to working in groups in training. We focus a lot on this aspect of training in groups with ball based exercises like for example the possession warm ups which aid control and they are responding well and adapting because they know the way Barça play from watching them on television and they like that a lot. They feel like Barça palyers for the week, and that is the key to this type of camp,” explains Esteban.

The group has worked on double sessions in training at the FCB Escola during the week and also has found the time to visit the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, where they watched U10 and U12 matches and had their picture taken with Barça player Rafinha. The group have also taken in the sights that the city of Barcelona has to offer as well as attending the UEFA Youth League game between the Barça U19A team and Roma U19s at the Miniestadi.
